The Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo, has appointed Very Rev. Fr. (Dr.) David Kehinde Akala,  as the new Chaplain of Catholic Women Organization Nigeria, Abeokuta Diocese.

Very Rev. Fr. Akala is the Parish Priest of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Otemuyi. He was one time the Chaplain of the Catholic Men Organization of Nigeria in the Diocese.

He took over from Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Famoroti on the 20th February, 2025 after his elevation as Provincial Chaplain of the Lagos Ecclesiastical Province.

Addressing members of the Organization at their meeting held at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Obada-Idi-Emi, Very Rev. Fr. Akala promised to continue, hold forth, and work with CWONAD through the intercession of our Lady of Perpetual Help.
